Ministers

Our ministers are:

Rev Tony Perry, Superintendent

Tony has pastoral oversight of the churches at Ashby, Coleorton, Heather house, Ibstock, Hugglescote and Worthington.  Rev Tony Perry

Tony took on the post of Superintendant Minister of the Ashby and Coalville Circuit in September 2006.

I believe God brought me to the Ashby and Coalville Circuit to be part of the things which He is doing and intends to do in the churches and the circuit.  I want to work to with everyone as together we discover and play our part in God's plans.  Despite what we are so often told, these are exciting times for the church we look forward to sharing them with you!

Deacon Barbara Crockett

Barbara has pastoral oversight of the churches at Hall Lane, Marlborough Square,Thringstone and Whitwick.

Deacon Barbara CrockettI am a Deacon in the Methodist Church which means that I am called to the door of ministry not necessarily to the altar.  As a preaching deacon I love sharing the message of Jesus with all who will hear it.  Other descriptions of me are that I am a ‘breath of fresh air’, that I challenge the comfortable and comfort the challenged.  But above all I am a Black Country lady with a broad Black Country accent which means you have to listen carefully to the way I say it.

Things I love include hugs from everyone, laughter and storytelling and above all pastoral visiting - I am a people person.  I don’t cook so I spend a lot of time in pubs having meals and chatting with the locals.  I am hopeless at gardening and paperwork although I love to see both tidy and orderly.  My one promise to you all is that I will love you because this is what God sends me to do wherever I go.

Rev Lynda Coates

Lynda has pastoral oversight of Donisthorpe, Measham, Moira, Oakthorpe and Packington.

Rev Lynda CoatesI am a firm believer that the Church should be where the people are - so that the people might want to be where the Church is and I am sure that there are many fresh opportunities waiting to be explored within local communities to make this possible.  I’m keen to work alongside families with young children - and that includes the grandparents who look after them!  The Church isn’t just a place to come to on Sundays - it’s a family wanting to serve God in every age.  So I hope to meet you there!
