District Youth Team
There is a district youth team for the Nottingham & Derby District. Its aims are:
If a church has no Sunday school they have a resource in place to find out about other churches in the circuit/area that has. Likewise as the children grow up and move onto secondary education, we can try and encourage them into youth groups/fellowships and other school clubs etc. If we still have them at 18/19 we can steer them to towards getting them to join young adult groups.
We need to accept that some churches have young people and some don’t, some have leaders and some don’t and that until churches find the leaders and/or resources, we don’t want to lose them.
Watch out for a Youth Directory that is currently being prepared to assist communication between groups.

As Christians we are charged to love and care for each other. This is particularly true where the most vulnerable members of our community are concerned. Children and young people have specific needs, which can be met by the Church if its members respond to the call to be Christ's people, living in his way. This means living in today's world amongst its problems and challenges, recognising that some of these will be challenges for the church itself.
Safeguarding is about preventing the abuse of children and young people and promoting their welfare. The aim of the Methodist Church Safeguarding policy is to create Christian communities of love and care, where good practice in this area becomes a way of life.
These web pages provide a summary of policy and good practice, news, information, frequently used forms, articles and bulletins.
