Welcome to the Ashby and Coalville Circuit within the Methodist Church

The Circuit is situated in Leicestershire in the Heart of the National Forest and we are part of the Nottingham and Derby District

Our Circuit comprises 15 churches, some of which have town centre positions and others which are located in rural areas.

Everyone is welcome to join with us in our varied programme of Sunday worship available throughout the circuit.  You will find services taking place at different times of the day and includes all age worship.   Take a look at each church for full details.

We welcome you to join us at any of our services and events!

Saturday 20th - Sunday 21st June

Look out for the Worthington Village Yard Sale!

Takes place on weekend at locations throughout the village between 8am and 5pm.  Proceeds for the village primary school.

During the weekend the church will be holding a mini flower festival with the theme based on 1 Corinthians 13 – ‘And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love’.   The flowers will be arranged by ladies of Ashby Methodist Church with help from the young people of the village.  The church will also be used for quiet contemplation and a resting spot during the weekend.  Open 2pm – 4.30pm.  Donations will be gratefully received towards the upkeep of the church.

Walk National Forest 12 - 27 September 2009

National Forest SignpostSenior church leaders in the National Forest have a vision for a Walk mission across the whole area. This will take place during 12 - 27 September 2009, involving several hundred trained mission team members actively engaged in a variety of mission projects.

Through Faith Missions (TFM) has been invited to partner local churches over the coming months to help make this vision a reality. They have 17 years expertise with area Walk missions. Local churches, however, will be the ones to actively shape the mission in their area.

Who is organising the Walk?

Locally led.

The Walk is being overseen by a local Task Force, drawn from many denominations.

“Where is it?”

The “Forest” takes in parts of Leicestershire, Derbyshire and Staffordshire. The National Forest website gives you all that a visitor needs to know, but what does a mission team member need to know?

The initial invitation came from a group of ministers in the Coalville area. We now have a good Task Force representing the whole area and different denominations. The area has many ex-mining communities, the brewery town of Burton-on-Trent, lots of villages and the National Memorial Arboretum, one of the most visited places in England.

The mission will last 2 weeks: 12-27 September 2009. TFM needs hundreds of team members, so if you would like to join us, please sign up early (by contacting TFM). The deadline for applications is the 31st May 2009.
